Resolis & Urquhart

In 2005 the Resolis & Urquhart congregation took a leap of faith and sold our two ageing churches and moved into the village hall in Culbokie village. Our vision is to develop a place of worship in the village and bring the church into the heart of the community. We are currently in the process of purchasing the former primary school building from Highland Council and hope to have completed the purchase and renovation by the summer of 2011.

The church currently has 72 communicant members and 41 adherents. We regularly have 35-45 attending Sunday Worship.

Activities
There is a small Sunday school with 6 regular attendees. There are unfortunately no teenagers attending. We have an active Women’s Fellowship, a small mid week fellowship, and lively Sunday evening Praise & Prayer gathering, which is usually in the manse. A Healing Ministry team has recently been established. Once a month the Women’s Fellowship run a Friendship Group for the elderly.

As part of our fundraising efforts in aid of the new church we hold a regular soup lunch once a month in the hall. This has become a regular institution in the village and provides a place for folks to meet and enjoy friendship and fellowship.

On a number of occasions we have been invited to join with the local Free Church to celebrate Communion or for a time of prayer. We have had good links with Cromarty church over the years as we take turns of hosting the World Day of Prayer services.

Buildings and facilities
As noted above, whilst the congregation currently does not have a place of worship, we are intending to refurbish the former primary school in the village. Once completed this will provide a worship area, meeting room, kitchen and some ancillary spaces. We would then hope to focus our activities in these facilities.
